Rob Wesdorp

Rob WESDORP MSc. joined TNO (The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research) after a 36-year career in the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). During his service he has deployed onboard frigates, tankers and LPD, and included 5 deployments. He is the Senior Naval Consultant & Expert Advisor for Protection, Munitions & Weapons Division of TNO’s Defense, Safety & Security Department. His main areas of expertise are ship survivability and naval weapon systems (hypersonics).

He advises TNOs ship survivability and weapons specialists from a practical viewpoint. In close cooperation with COMMIT (Material & IT Command for the Netherlands Ministry of Defense), he works on the new classes of frigates for the RNLN, the replacement for the RNLN LPDs and RNLN submarines. He is an advocate for intrinsic, built in ship survivability for naval vessels.
