Group Captain Morley joined the RAF in 1989 under the University Cadetship Scheme where he studied electrical and electronic engineering at Imperial College, London. He has
worked in communications and information systems throughout the majority of his career, including his most recent command appointment as officer commanding the Joint Defensive Cyber Unit in Corsham. More recently he was the liaison officer to the Civil Contingencies Secretariat in the Cabinet Office, responsible to UK Operations in Head Office providing the link between the Ministry of Defence and its support to civil emergencies and military aid to the civil authorities. On promotion to Group Captain in 2020 he was appointed as the sponsor for cyber, cryptographic and influence capabilities in Headquarters UK Strategic Command. He joined the Rapid Capabilities Office as the
military Assistant Head in January 2024.
