RAdm Paul Carroll is Director of Innovation and Future Capability within Defence Equipment and  Support. The role spans multi £Bn mega projects and novel technology development for the Royal  Navy. 

RAdm Carroll leads a new, 200 strong, portfolio of teams, establishing a strong culture of confidence,  integrity, constructive dissent, meaning and impact. His team have defined and delivered strategic  analysis of the UK maritime sector underpinning the Government’s ambition to ‘bring shipbuilding  home’.  

Key projects within his portfolio are: 

• The £2bn UK Fleet Solid Support international procurement with a focus on using the  programme as a pathfinder for the Government’s new sustainability strategy. 

• A £250M UK/French AI autonomous mine countermeasures and hydrography systems  programme MHC; transitioning ground-breaking demonstration systems into operational service. 

• RAdm Carroll successfully led the Acquisition tranche of the T31 Frigate programme, now  under construction in Scotland.
