My career started with a PhD in Engineering Materials Failure Analysis from Southampton. Then followed undertook many failure investigations on Ships . For the next 25 years I have been academic at Portsmouth, Open, and Plymouth Universities teaching Marine and Mechanical Engineering Additionally RNLI crew and Coastguard cliff rescue officer including Harbour Commissioner . My research is focussed on sustainable Marine materials, Composites and Additive manufacturing . I have two books , and 79 other publications.
