Vice Admiral Imayoshi Shinichi serves as the Director General of Naval Systems, Acquisition, Technology ＆ Logistics Agency, Ministry of Defense. His responsibility roughly ranges from three fields, including logistics, ships and weapons, and aircraft for Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
Vice Admiral Imayoshi graduated from National Defense Academy with Bachelor of Applied Physics and joined the JMSDF in 1989 as one of the students in MSDF Officer Candidate School. He was then became an assistant ASW officer and started his sea tour in JS Chikugo (DD).
His experience in the Maritime Staff Office includes four posts in the Ships and Weapons Division, once in Logistics, and once in the Personal Planning Division. He was also assigned to the Director of Ships and Weapons Division, and Deputy Director General, Procurement Operations (Ships, Communication and Electronics), Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency (ATLA). His previous role was Director, Naval Ship Design Division, ATLA.
