A highly experienced and decorated Naval Officer with postgraduate studies in International and National Security Strategies, Captain (Navy) Atasoy boasts a distinguished career spanning over two decades. With a strong foundation in improvised threat defense, he has served in various leadership roles within the Turkish Navy, including commanding tactical units in challenging operational environments such as Lebanon, Bosnia, and during counter-terrorism operations. Captain (Navy) Atasoy possesses extensive expertise in countering improvised threats in the maritime domain, including CBRN defense, and maritime security, having participated in numerous international exercises and NATO operations. As a respected instructor and subject matter expert, he has significantly contributed to the training and development of naval personnel, international military service members, civilian trainees as well as war correspondents. A multilingual professional with a proven track record of success, Captain (Navy) Atasoy is now playing a key role in assessing and designing the capabilities for the Alliance Future Surveillance and Control (AFSC) as the Project Coordinator within the ACT Capability Delivery directorate.
