Andy Marlor leads the Future Capability Sector of the Thales UK Underwater business delivering a “What’s Next” function in a rapidly changing domain.  Primarily focused on “Next Generation” and “Generate After Next” capabilities, his role is to Inform and Influence, Enable and Disrupt technologies, capabilities and target outcomes across “Data to Decision” in the UW Battlespace.  This is achieved through a specialist team who focus on R&D and Technology Demonstrator Programmes.  Collaboration is centre to the approach and recent years he has collaborated across Academia, SMEs, larger businesses as well as emergent and “non-traditional” partners.  Prior to his current role Andy led the Algorithmic, Modelling and Signatures team within the business and spent 11 years as a Weapon Engineer (Submarines) Officer in the Royal Navy.  This mix of operational, capability and technical experiences is the foundation of an approach focused on developing “unfair advantage” for the front line.
