A Marshall Islands-flagged, U.S.-owned and operated container ship has been struck by an anti-ship ballistic missile fired from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. This is according to the U.S. Central Command.

The ship is continuing its journey as there are no reported injuries and the vessel has not been damaged, as reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency. Earlier in the day, U.S. Forces detected an anti-ship ballistic missile fired toward the Southern Red Sea commercial shipping lanes. It's reported that the missile failed in flight.

Over the past few weeks, Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis have been attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea.
