Israel’s Orbit Communication Systems has recently secured significant contracts totalling USD 36.7 million, solidifying its position in the defence market, the company announced on 15 January 2024.

The company finalised an agreement with the Israeli Ministry of Defense for supplying advanced communication systems, valued at approximately USD 16.6 million (EUR 15.17 million), and also secured a framework contract with the US Air Force (USAF), worth USD 16.5 million, for the upgrade, servicing and maintenance of Orbit’s Airborne Digital Audio System (ADAS) communications management systems in USAF KC-135 tanker aircraft. This latter contract spans an additional 60 months, “emphasising Orbit’s commitment to ensuring high-level maintenance and performance of advanced communication systems”, the company noted.

Additionally, Orbit received a USD 3.6 million order from a leading European integrator for satellite communication (satcom) systems for naval military platforms. The OceanTRx4 systems included in the order will provide continuous broadband satellite connectivity to “a prominent European fleet” starting in 2026.

Daniel Eshchar, CEO of Orbit, was quoted by the company as saying, “Securing these three contracts reaffirms the acknowledgment of our technology’s reliability and superior performance. The increasing demand for advanced communication solutions across diverse applications emphasises the significance of our work, inspiring us to intensify our efforts in the coming year.”
