Expeditionary Trailer Version Of Intruder Detection Sonar On Show At CNE
)
Global maritime defence experts Forcys is showcasing the newly launched Wavefront Systems Expeditionary Trailer version of its Sentinel IDS at this year’s CNE.
Although the trailer system, developed by Forcys’ technology partner Wavefront Systems, has only been brought to market within the last month, it has already secured a significant number of sales.
Each trailer houses the Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar which can detect and classify divers at ranges of up to 1,000 metres and uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) at up to 1,500 metres.
The compact, trailer-based configuration allows Sentinel to be deployed where fixed infrastructure is unavailable or unsuitable, making it an ideal solution for expeditionary and forward-operating missions.
Forcys is encouraging delegates to visit its stand at CNE to learn all about the self-contained counter-intrusion system featuring the Sentinel sonar, which recently had a passive capability added to complement its active element.
Managing Director at Forcys Ioseba Tena commented: “The trailer will occupy about half our booth. I think it's gonna be quite a statement, so that's something we're excited about.”
He continued: “The Sentinel is the world's most deployed system… we don't like to tell people numbers, but we've sold more than anybody else and it's operating across pretty much all continents.”
He added: “In terms of deployment mechanisms, we feel like we offer more options than any of our competitors. And, you know, we have options for deployment across permanent infrastructure. And we have lots of different deployment options for what we call expeditionary systems.
“And the trailer is one of those options which is pretty neat, and the key differentiator with the trailer… is everything that you need to operate a Sentinel is in the trailer… the computer, the power, the remote comms.”
CNE is running between Tuesday and Thursday this week at the International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Farnborough, U.K.
The largest annual naval event in Europe, in its 11th iteration it will this year welcome in excess of 2,200 delegates to hear 160+plus presentations and interact with more than 200 exhibitors from over 80 nations worldwide.
It will focus on all aspects of maritime security, including future surface fleet developments, underwater defence and security, and submarine and surface fleet technology.
