DIEM Analytics was founded in 2011 to develop operational decision-aides and has developed a reputation for novelty and agility. It has delivered a number of DASA and Dstl funded ‘rapid impact innovations’, such as DUCHESS and MaLFIE, both of which have been implemented and are now in use with the UK and allied defence and security organisation. It has also seen several its proof-of-concept AI applications tested in military exercises such as FORMIDABLE SHIELD’21, where DIEM’s AI applications were used in the Ops rooms of HMS Dragon and HMS Lancaster, and JOINT PROTECTOR’22 where DIEMs AI applications were used in by the Standing Joint Force Headquarter (SJFHQ) ‘J3’ Combined Operational Planning (COP) team. As a result of its success DIEM’s MD sits on the MOD’s AI ethics advisory panel, which reports to 2nd PUS.
